The Palawan State University’s Board of Regents held its 169th Regular Meeting on December 6, 2013 at the PSU hostel. The meeting was also the first to include Dr. Minella Alarcon, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner and the new Chairperson of the PSU BOR.
The Palawan State University in cooperation with the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) launched the “PIDS Corner,” a part of the University Library which houses published material from the PIDS. The launch ceremony took place on January 27, 2014 at the PSU Library.
For her support in promoting and upholding the welfare of children and their protection against the effects of armed conflict, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) presented an AFP Bayanihan Award to Dr. Grace Abrina, the Director of the PSU Office of Student Affairs Services (OSA). The award was given to her on
January 13, 2014.
As a way of showing its support for the continued betterment, recovery, and success of the nation, the Palawan State University joined the “One Nation in Prayer – Isang Bansa, Isang Panalangin,” a prayer event held at the Malacanan Palace Grounds and broadcast through national television on January 20, 2013.
Professor Marissa Pontillas from the PSU College of Teacher Education recently travelled to Haifa, Israel to participate in the “International Workshop on Integrated Approach to Early Childhood Development and Education.” The event was held on December 2-19, 2013.
As it constantly achieves its goals to be part of a progressive community, the Palawan State University in cooperation with the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) hosted a seminar-forum with a feature research presentation entitled “The Philippine Mining and Minerals Industry: Development Issues and Recommendations for Research.” The program was held at the PSU Hostel on January 27, 2013.
